Protecting the Environment
Foam & Wash and the Environment
Washing your car in a professional car wash is a good way to protect the environment. We use less water (about 25 gallons) than washing in the driveway. (60 – 120 gallons) Our wash water is treated before it goes into the city sewer system. It then goes to a waste water treatment plant. Washing your car in the driveway causes the water to go into the storm drain. This drain is only meant for rain water. The soapy wash water from washing in your driveway ends up in our rivers and lakes killing fish and polluting the environment. At the professional car wash, the dirt that comes off your car ends up as cover at landfills and recycled for use at asphalt plants. Foam & Wash uses detergents that are 100% biodegradable and phosphate free.
Oil Change Plus and Striving for Green
Each year at Oil Change Plus, almost 50,000 used oil filters are sent out for recycling, including any remaining oil in each filter. All of the used oil that is removed from a vehicle during an oil change is shipped for recycling or is used as an energy source for heating. When you purchase a new battery from us 100% of the parts from your old battery are sent to a local recycling plant.

Premium Green! Oil Change Plus now offers Premium Green as a choice for your vehicles oil change. This green oil has been recycled and cleaned. It meets and exceeds all API SAE regulations‚ and it is a great renewable energy source. Presently all federal, military, and many state vehicles are required to use renewable oil as part of their oil change maintenance programs. Hundreds of our current customers are joining in with a Premium Green oil change to assist in protecting the environment.
Bottle Bob and Toucan Sam
At many of our locations you can see a receptacle for all your recyclable beverage containers. These receptacles are there to help protect the environment and help the local community. Instead of just tossing your recyclables into the trash, feed them to Bottle Bob!
We take all of the containers that have a deposit on them and deliver them to a local recycle center. The money from these bottles is donated directly to The Hudson Valley Food Bank.
Did you know that your six packs of cans or bottles could provide a meal to a person in need? Have a whole case of empty bottles or cans? That would provide enough food for a family to have a nutritious breakfast! Feed Bob! Please!
